Rafael long fringe necklace
by: Rafael Alfandary, Canada
materials: brass, Murano glass
size: pendant 6" x 1 7/8", chain 26"
Rafael Alfandary moved to Canada in 1970, and quickly established himself as one of the most popular jewellery designers of the decade. His clients at the time included Margaret Trudeau, Lorne Greene, Liberace and Muhammad Ali, and more recently, Prince wore a piece by Rafael to the People's Choice Awards in 2005.
This necklace is quintessential Rafael. It features 2 of his glass cabochons, both a blend of clear dark yellow and burnt orange, set in hammered brass; a kinetic fringe; and a long, adjustable hammered link chain culminating in two long links above the pendant.
