This ring is a marvellous example of Weckstrom's weird and wonderful use of acrylic in his sculptural jewellery. Introduced in the early 70s, its popularity was fast-tracked after a "Petrified Lake" ring was worn by Yoko Ono when she appeared with John Lennon on the Dick Cavett Show in 1975. The acrylic sphere features bubbles, swirls of gold, and dark blue and green inclusions. The surface of the silver is textured and craggy and has a wonderful patina to it.
