Poul Havgaard was originally a Danish blacksmith who began his long association as a jeweller with Finland's Lapponia in 1971. This extremely rare necklace in sterling silver is very reminiscent of his early works in iron, with its organic, rugged shapes and use of darkened negative space. The asymmetric links join together so that they gradually spiral as they form the long chain.
